Falthoryx's Field Journal

This codex bears no title and its cover, made of dark oiled leather, wraps the pages entirely to form a water-resistant seal. The pages are marked with precise draconic script and numerous functional sketches. There are quick maps, showing the terrain of the Dragon Isles, and annotated profiles of its wildlife and peoples.

I awoke in shadow and stone, both of which were broken with breath and claw. I was confused, my memories scattered like pollen in the wind and my mind mired in a smothering fog. I assumed I had been taken by an enemy and nearly attacked the person I saw, but their form was unknown to me, small with green skin, and my training urged to watch and learn. This was the correct course, as the attendant was coming to investigate the sound of my escape and was no enemy.
I came to learn that the world I had known has been gone so long it has been forgotten. It was buried under twenty thousand years of history. In that time, new peoples have evolved, elves and humans, others have come from other worlds, draenei and orcs, others yet rediscovered, pandaren and earthen. The world was shattered, Kalimdor riven into multiple continents by the Sundering, then broken by Cataclysm; itself orchestrated by Neltharion. It's all... too much overwhelming stunning.
Beyond that, the Adamant Vigil is all but destroyed. The High Creche is a ruin. I am told Scalecommander Emberthal survives, though she now commands the Ebon Scales. I don't know what happened to Scalecommander Sarkareth, it seems there was some schism, but the Adamant Vigil was destroyed when they awoke. Dravyr, Soryth, Kryzeth, Vaerik, Thaezra... all them are gone. Even my memories of them are faded and unclear. As though I were glimpsing a dream through warped glass. I will remember what I can, I owe them that much if I am all that remains, but I will need to move forward if I am to find a place in this world.

I attended a "Guild Faire" in Orgrimmar and have joined Emberheart Expeditions. It is different from a weyrn, but if provides a mission that will be sufficient.

Addendum: A dough-nut is a circular confection and not a mechanical component.

War has changed. It has become something of the land, defined by battle fields and fronts. Few battles are fought in the air and the foes possess a subtlety and variety that proto-drakes lack. It seems this conflict is not one of simple ideology, but a contest of fundamental forces (Light and Void). From what I have seen, the Field Commanders leave much to be desired, but perhaps that is my ignorance of modern warfare. I have much to learn.
