Archivist turned refugee turned adventurer. Tends to have a unique perspective that has always kept him apart from those around him.

Mist

Mist is a perfectly normal, young fox kit. While she originally fit in Fael's palm, she's grown to about the size of a house cat. She seems to be mute having never made a sound. She has a strong predatory drive and is prone to nipping. She often rides on Fael's shoulder.

Traits

• Restricted diet: Fael only eats simple foods, mostly bread, cheese, and meat.
• Sensory overload: In certain situations, he gets overwhelmed by his senses and this can lead to a catatonic-like state.
• Systemic thinking: The way his mind works, it's relatively easy for Fael to understand complex systems, like food webs or cataloging systems, but harder for him to grasp the unspoken social cues most others understand innately.

Mist's Harness

Slim leather harness, dark grey that fades into Mist's fur. Attaches to a matching harness on Fael so that Mist can be carried in his various forms. Brand identifies it as a creation of "Wonderworks Productions".

Sense Defense Hood

Crafted by Falthoryx, a leather hood with modular veil/face mask that allows the wearer some control over how much light, sound, or smell (with veil) they perceive. Works by nullifying the carrier before the wearer perceives them (essentially magic noise-cancelling headphones, sunglasses, and/or noseplugs all in one).

Fael is a careful, observant man who takes the world in slowly and on his own terms. He is not unfriendly, but he is deliberate — he will notice things before he comments on them, and may not comment at all. Those who mistake his quiet for disinterest are usually wrong. He is most at ease with clear expectations and structured work. He is least at ease in crowds, in loud places, and in situations with no obvious role for him to fill. He has spent enough years learning his own edges that he manages most of this without drawing attention to it, though not always.

His druidic forms remain as useful to him off the battlefield as on it. Mist serves a similar purpose, though she seems to be an ordinary fox kit and primarily concerned with her own comfort. Fael is, in his own estimation, better suited to bibliographic work than adventuring, but he keeps doing both.

{h2}Before the Cataclysm (594-620 YK){/h2}
Fael Faron was born in Gilneas City to a quiet life shaped early by absence. His father did not return from the Second War and his Mother struggled as a single parent. As a young teenager, he found his place among the stacks of the Merchant House Library, where the work was predictable and detailed. He spent nearly a decade there before circumstances, an arranged date that ended in social disaster, resulted in a quiet transfer to the Royal Archive. While he regretted his mother's disappointment, he quietly thrived in the depths of the Archive. He was 26 when the worgen curse found him there.

{h2}A New Life (621-624 YK){/h2}
It didn't happen all at once, but Fael lost everything when he was forced to flee Gilneas. Slowly, carefully, he began to build a new life. He met a dog, Edith, who became his constant companion. He learned to cope with the Worgen curse and developed an innate talent for shapeshifting. He was trained as a druid but never fully felt he belonged among them. He would spend a great deal of time patrolling Darkshore with Edith, observing the forest and watching for encroachment.

His time in Darkshore led him to joining adventuring company called the Kitehawks. He travelled across much of Kalimdor with them until he was captured by hostile force, lost Edith, and was rejected by the Kitehawks shortly after his escape. He returned to Darkshore to find it besieged by the Horde. He worked to protect the closest thing he had to a home but to no avail. Standing on the beach, watching Teldrassil burn, broke something within him. He turned away from the world, becoming a beast in form and mind, and lost himself in the mountains of northern Kalimdor.

{h2}Returning to the World (634- YK){/h2}
When Fael finally emerged from the wilds, he carried a tiny fox kit named Mist. Since then, he's been rediscovering the world beyond what he had known. He's spent much of his time with the Azerothian Archives, using his expertise to preserve and catalog artifacts.

He has ventured to the reclaimed Gilneas but found the Royal Archives gutted and destroyed; the entire history of his homeland lost to the Cataclysm, hostile occupation, and time. He is driven to prevent that from happening elsewhere and is seeking somewhere he and Mist might be of use.
